India and KKR’s star all-rounder Shardul Thakur lit up the Eden Gardens in Kolkata with his power-hitting against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday. It won’t be wrong to say that Thakur produced his greatest contribution to the bat as he rescued his team Kolkata Knight Riders by slamming the joint-fastest fifty of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Shardul Thakur And Rinku Singh Played A Stunning Knock
Thakur turned the tables of the game with his stunning 20-ball half-century as he stitched a stunning sixth-wicket stand with Rinku Singh worth 103 off just 49 balls to help KKR recover from a batting collapse in the middle overs. With Thakur’s help, KKR recovered from a shaky 89/5 to go past the 200-mark for the first time this season.
Not just Thakur helped his side recover from early blows but he also matched Jos Buttler’s 2-ball fifty feat against SunRisers Hyderabad, which is the fastest of this season. Shardul played a counter-attacking knock of 68 runs off 29 balls, smashing 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Besides Thakur, Rinku Singh also played a crucial role in KKR’s comeback as he played slammed a stunning knock of 46 runs off 33 balls, smashing 2 fours and 3 sixes.
