Swashbuckling West Indies opener Chris Gayle is one of the most loved cricketers around the world. Well, for the unversed, Gayle was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the inaugural edition of the IPL. The star-player played for KKR for the next three years before moving to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Recently, in an interaction on Youtube, Joy Bhattacharjya, revealed a hilarious inscident featuring Chris Gayle, describing how the cricketers adapted to a strange practice during IPL 2010.
Joy revealed that Chris Gayle had told him about his plans of following the Caribbean time during IPL 2010. He pointed out that it was a task to wake up Gayle during team’s afternoon games that year as the cricketer’s preferred of waking up was 2 PM.
Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss, featured in 9 games KKR played in that edition, where he amassed 292 runs at a fantasic strike rate of 158.69.
Joy also revealed another incident where team was practicing in the nets, Gaule was batting and the hard-hitter had struck the ball once, which nearly hit him and had it happen, he could have died on the spot.
