KL Rahul Made A Big Statement On Hardik Pandya’s Exclusion From T20I series Against NZ: The Indian cricket team is all set to play a three-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will kickstart from November 17. Among notable absentees from the India squad for the T20I format, the impending three-match series against New Zealand at home in Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya has been under the scanner of critics for a long time. He was included in India’s T20 World Cup squad to solve their problems however, he has failed to do so. Hardik Pandya hasn’t bowled a single delivery in recent times and he also played as a specialist batsman for Mumbai Indians in the just concluded 2021 edition of the IPL.

While the cricketer has been receiving criticism from all corners, his good friend and India’s newly appointed T20I vice-captain, KL Rahul feels that Hardik is a “smart cricketer” and that he knows how the star all-rounder can make a comeback into the squad for the next series.

On Monday, speaking at a virtual press conference ahead of the T20I series, KL Rahul feels Hardik is smart enough to understand things. He said:

Quite honestly, I mean I do not know if that has happened. He knows exactly what he needs to do and what is expected out of him. He is smart enough to understand that,”

He added:

“Look, I have been fortunate to know him for a very long time. As a youngster, I did try to pick his brain. He was very helpful to all of us back home in Karnataka. He has helped boys across the country, having him here with us as a part of that setup will give us an opportunity to learn,”
