Kuldeep Yadav’s impact on the Delhi Capitals’ bowling was evident as soon as he returned to the team after being sidelined due to injury. In his very first over against the Lucknow Super Giants, he took two wickets, dismissing Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran. His delivery to dismiss Pooran was particularly impressive and would have impressed any spinner.

Kuldeep Yadav Delivered ‘Ball Of IPL 2024’ To Dismiss Nicholas Pooran For A Golden Duck

Anticipating a powerful shot from Stoinis, Kuldeep Yadav bowled the ball wide to the Australian all-rounder. Stoinis attempted a big swing but only managed to get a top edge. Ishant Sharma, positioned at short third, caught the ball without any difficulty. Next up was Pooran, who has been one of Lucknow Super Giants’ top batsmen this season with a strike rate of 168.

Pooran, known for his aggressive batting, fell victim to Kuldeep’s brilliant delivery. The googly pitched outside off stump, fooling Pooran who expected a turn but was deceived as it straightened, crashing into his stumps. As a result, Pooran departed without scoring, suffering a golden duck.

The delivery not only dismissed Pooran but also damaged the stumps permanently. As a result, a time-out was called to replace the damaged stumps.

Kuldeep’s impact continued as he almost dismissed LSG captain KL Rahul with the last ball of his first over, but the delivery pitched slightly outside the line. However, he didn’t miss his chance in the next over. Bowling a flatter delivery that turned away from Rahul, the right-hander edged it with hard hands. Initially given not out, Rishabh Pant immediately referred it for review.

The replays confirmed a clear edge, leading Rahul to depart. While Pooran’s dismissal was crucial, Rahul’s wicket marked a turning point in the match. He was settled and batting effectively, making his dismissal a significant moment in the game’s flow.
