IPL: The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to commence on March 26 with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on the runner-ups, Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium.
As we move into a new era in the IPL – with the addition of two new franchises and the mega-auction having taken place that has got the squads reshuffled – here’s an interesting piece of stat for the fans.
This is about the most number of ducks by a batsman in the IPL so far. Fans would be surprised to learn that Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has the joint-most number of ducks in the Indian Premier League! Sharma, who has led Mumbai to five IPL titles and won one IPL before with Deccan Chargers, has been dismissed for a duck 13 times in his IPL career to date.
In fact, there are a total of six players who have secured 13 ducks in the IPL:

Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Rohit Sharma.
To remember is that Chawla and Harbhajan are tailenders and mostly come in a situation where they have to swing the bat from the first ball, so good reason for their heavy number of ducks. Then the likes of Parthiv, Rahane, and Rohit are all openers and are vulnerable to the swinging and seaming ball, hence their high number of noughts.
Next on the list with 12 ducks in Indian Premier League are four batters: Mandeep Singh, Manish Pandey, Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik.
RCB and former Punjab batsman, Glenn Maxwell, the swashbuckling, mercurial Australian who likes to take on the bowlers from his first ball, however, that also comes with high risk, and therefore he has bagged 11 ducks in the IPL so far.
Even the great and ever so calm AB de Villiers has been dismissed for zero on 10 occasions, so have been Amit Mishra and Shikhar Dhawan. RCB’s talisman batsman Virat Kohli has registered 6 ducks in IPL while MS Dhoni has four ducks.
