England’s fast bowler Stuart Broad is confident of being fully fit before the 2015 World Cup in Australia in New Zealand in February-March, after undergoing a surgery on his right knee. Broad has been struggling with his right knee since a long time, but he is feeling confident about his recovery after the surgery.
“The knee is coming on well, it’s nearly a month since I’ve had surgery,” Broad told the England and Wales Cricket Board’s official website. “I’m back in the gym doing certain bits of weights now and hoping to maybe get on a camp pre-Christmas with the (England) Lions.”
Stuart Broad is one of the most experienced players in the English side. Broad has played 108 One Day Internationals (ODI) for England, and he has taken 168 wickets. Broad is taking no risk as far as his involvement in the all-important World Cup 2015 is concerned.
“The 6th of January is my aim to get on that flight to Australia,” Broad told the England and Wales Cricket Board’s official website. “I’ve planned it really carefully and I should be in good stead to go on that flight.”
To avoid any complexity, he will miss the seven-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. However, he is confident of making a comeback in the tri-series against Australia and India in mid-January ahead of the World Cup 2015.
Prior to this surgery, Stuart Broad was in good form as he played a key role in England’s 3-1 victory in the Test series against India. He is a very important member of the English squad as he adds more balance to the side with his all-round skills. He, however, he missed the ODI series of the tour due to his knee injury.
