The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) recorded one of the most dominating wins in the IPL history over Rajasthan Royals (RR), thumping down Sanju Samson’s team by a massive margin of 112 runs in Jaipur. RR got bundled out for only 59 runs in their chase of 172.
Half-centuries from Faf du Plessis (55 off 44) and Glenn Maxwell (54 off 33), followed by sensational pace bowling show from Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell led to Royal Challengers Bangalore winning by such a huge margin, because of which not only Royal Challengers Bangalore equaled RR on points in the points table, but also pipped them over on NRR.
Royal Challengers Bangalore jumped to the 5th spot in the points table with 12 points in 12 matches while RR dipped to the 6th position with 12 points and 13 games. For Royal Challengers Bangalore, if they win both their remaining matches, they are likely to sneak into the playoffs. MI and PBKS are two teams who could end up with 16 points, but Bangalore Based Franchise has a healthier NRR than both of those teams.
Everyone were stunned by this daunting performance from Royal Challengers Bangalore as this size of victory was not expected which allowed Royal Challengers Bangalore to bump up their NRR even above that of RR’s.
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Twitter account also tweeted on this emphatic win by RCB over RR.

Qualification scenario for RCB and LSG:
If RCB win their remaining two matches, they are likely to get into the playoffs based on their healthy NRR. If they win only one, they will need the loser of the MI-LSG match to lose their last match as well and Punjab to drop at least one of theirs.
LSG have 13 points in 12 matches. Wins in both their remaining games will see them in the playoffs. If they lose one, they can still qualify without depending on NRRs, if other results go in their favor. However, there is also a possibility of five other teams all finishing on 16 or more points. If they lose both their matches, then LSG will be eliminated.
