LSG vs SRH: For match number 10 of IPL 2023, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are hosting the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, April 7th. The match is being plated at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
KL Rahul’s LSG won their first match of the tournament, here in Lucknow, as Mark Wood blew away Delhi Capitals with a five-fer, before they went down by 12 runs to Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk. SRH were beaten comprehensively in their only match so far, by 72 by Rajasthan Royals.

SRH captain Aiden Markram won the toss and elected to bat first on the pitch that is expected to be slow and keep low.
Interestingly, SRH are starting with 3 overseas players, and are expected to bring on one overseas player as Impact Player. Also, very interestingly, LSG are not playing Quinton de Kock!

Impact Player rule in IPL 2023:
The IPL 2023 also sees, for the first time in the competition’s history, the Impact Player rule. The BCCI has decided to introduce this new rule as it believes this will add a new tactical, strategic dimension to the game. A number of team sports in the world like football, rugby, basketball, and baseball allow teams to make tactical substitutions where the substitute is allowed to perform or participate like any other regular player.
Every captain will have to nominate substitutes and any one of them can be used as the team’s Impact Player and can bring that player into play at any time in the match – be it before the start of the second innings of the match; at the end of an over; at the fall of a wicket or when a batter retires.
