LSG vs SRH: Lucknow Super Giants is taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing IPL 2023 game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. LSG’s star pacer Mark Wood didn’t make it to the playing XI against SRH which was quite surprising. Wood had taken 8 wickets in the first 2 matches, including a match-winning 5-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals (DC).

As the game started, SRH captain Aiden Markram, who missed the first match, returned to lead the side. He won the toss and opted to bat first against LSG. Now the onus would be on Markram to guide the batters in the middle-overs phase.

Besides Wood, Avesh Khan was also missing from LSG’s playing XI. Both the players not only are lethal pacers but also have great control over their line and length.

After losing the toss, LSG skipper KL Rahul revealed the reason behind the absence of Mark Wood & Khan. He revealed Wood is down with flu and Avesh is injured. He revealed:

“Even during the last game I didn’t expect it to be a high-scoring one,” KL Rahul said.

“We will assess the conditions and try to do our best. Wood is down with flu, so he misses out. Avesh injured himself in the last game, so he is taking a break.”
