IND vs SL: Memes Galore As Cameraman Showed Dhanashree After Shreyas Iyer Hit A Six

Shreyas Iyer recorded an impressive half-century on Thursday against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede stadium, which helped India post a total in excess of 300.

Shreyas Iyer was aggressive right from the start of his innings. Pulling and slapping and slogging and skipping down the track to smash the bowler over his head. Iyer seemed in a different, attacking mood today.

Perhaps his low scores in recent innings could have prompted him to take the aggressive route today; plus batting on his home ground in Mumbai against a weaker opponent would have further emboldened him to be adventurous – his knock also included a cheeky paddle sweep which he’s rarely played in ODI cricket in the past.

Shreyas Iyer smashed the hitherto longest six of the tournament which measured a whopping 106 meters to fast bowler Kasun Rajitha. It was stand and deliver stuff from Shreyas Iyer.

Rajitha put it right in the slot for Iyer outside the off-stump. The India number 4 batsman wasn’t going to miss it – not least in the mood he came out to bat today. Iyer picked the bones out of the delivery and sent it over long-on for a gigantic hit, which broke Glenn Maxwell’s record of 104-metre sixer.

At the time of writing, Iyer has scored 60 runs in 46 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes. After one of those sixes, the cameraman was quick to pan the camera to Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma. This led to a spate of memes and trolling on Twitter.
