Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has heaped praises on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for increasing the pension of the retired cricketers. Kaif feels that the move by the BCCI means a lot to the former cricketers, who gave their all while playing when there was no money and helped to take the game forward, giving the example of his father.
For the unversed, Mohammad Kaif’s father Tarif Kaif, born in Allahabad, has played 60 first-class games for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. Kaif took to his Twitter and wrote:
“My father played 60 first class games. Scored close to 3000 runs, hit 5 hundreds. His generation helped the game grow when there was no money. By remembering their contribution, BCCI has shown a big heart,”
He added: “My father played 60 first class games. Scored close to 3000 runs, hit 5 hundreds. His generation helped the game grow when there was no money. By remembering their contribution, BCCI has shown a big heart.”
