[Watch] Mohammad Nabi Gives Warning To Babar Azam For Mankad In PAK vs AFG

Veteran Afghanistan spinner Mohammad Nabi gave a warning to the Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, for running him out at the non-striker’s end, also known as Mankading, when Babar was backing up outside the non-striker’s crease just a little too early.

Afghanistan and Pakistan faced off in an important clash in World Cup 2023 on Monday in Chennai. Babar Azam had won the toss and elected to bat first.

At the start of the 16th over of Pakistan’s innings, Mohammad Nabi started his run-up to bowl to Abdullah Shafique with Babar Azam at the non-striker’s end.

As Nabi loaded his action, Babar looked toward the striker but Nabi paused and stopped and instead looked at Babar gesturing to run him out. He said something, giving Babar Azam a warning. Surprised by this from Nabi, Babar then got back in the crease.

This was an interesting passage of play as Nabi gave Babar a warning about backing up outside his crease, although according to the rules, a bowler doesn’t need to give any warning and can run the non-striker out before his bowling arm has reached a perpendicular angle.

This is a brilliant game going on in Chennai. Pakistan got a 56-run opening stand from Imam and Shafique, which was broken by Azmatullah. Imam scored 17 runs while Shafique got out for 58. Rizwan played an ugly sweep shot to Noor Ahmad and was caught at fine leg.

Babar is batting well and inching toward a half-century. Big responsibility on him lays today.
