Mohammad Shami

The fourth and final match kickstarted today at the Narendra Modi Stadium in a blockbuster way in the presence of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As the game started, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first on a much-better pitch for batting Ahmedabad.

Australia got off to a strong start, scoring 61 runs, but Travis Head lost his cool and was dismissed after he played an unnecessary shot. Marnus Labuschagne, who hasn’t played well with the bat in India, was cleaned up by Mohammad Shami and he went back to the pavilion after scoring just 3 runs.

However, captain Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja joined hands and brought the much-needed momentum back to the game. Both the batters put up a 79-run partnership for the third wicket before captain Steve Smith was caught by Ravindra Jadeja.

Mohammad Shami Sends Peter Handscomb’s Off-Stump On A Ride

Following his dismissal, Peter Handscomb walked out to bat. Hardscomb has managed to defy the Indian spinners on some tricky pitches in the series. This time, however, Umesh Yadav softened him with a bombardment of short balls, but it was Shami who picked his wicket with a stunning pitched-up delivery that got through his defense. Shami’s stunning delivery sent the off-stump for a walk and left everyone stunned, including the batter.

The video of the same has been going viral on the internet. Watch the video:

India is retaining the BGT Trophy

Talking about the ongoing series, India is retaining the trophy as of now after defeating Australia in the first two Tests and losing the third Test of the 2023 series. If Australia manages to win the last game and the series is drawn, India will retain the trophy as the 2020-2021 series went in favor of the Men in Blue.
