Indian bowler Mohammed Shami has been receiving praises from all corners for his recent performances. He is currently in his best forms. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah, who is regarded as one of the best bowlers of India has found himself under the scanner for his performances ever since he made his comeback in the team after his injury.
In his recent performance against New Zealand in the just-concluded ODI series, following which he was criticized brutally by the Indian cricket fans. Giving a fitting reply to the trollers, Mohammed Shami has hit out at critics, in an interview.
Mohammed Shami has shown his support for Bumrah, who recently slipped down to the number 2 ranking of ICC. Mohammed Shami feels that not doing well in a few matches doesn’t undermine the match-winning potential of Jasprit Bumrah. He said:
“I can understand we are discussing on a topic (after a certain length of time) not just after 2-4 games. Just because he hasn’t performed in two games, you can’t just ignore his ability to win matches,”
He went on to shower praises on Jasprit Bumrah and slammed the trollers by recalling what Bumrah has achieved for the team. He said:
“What Bumrah has achieved for India, how can you even forget that or for that matter ignore it? So, if you think positively, then it’s good for the player and his confidence also,”
He added:
“As a sportsman, it’s very different. From outside, it is very easy to nit-pick as some have a job to comment and earn money. Every sportsman can get injured and one should try and look at the positives rather than harp on negatives. I also got injured in 2015 (knee surgery) but then bounced back,”
