Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami has been lauded by fans and the internet for his kind act towards a fan who was caught by security while trying to sneak up on the players.
The second Test match between India and Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 began on February 17, 2023, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. India is up 1-0 against Australia in the ongoing four-match Test series.
A video of Shami‘s generous act has gone viral on the internet.
The supporter was seen clambering over the fence, entering the field, and running towards the Indian players, presumably in an effort to meet them and take pictures with them. The fan, however, was stopped by security before he could complete his goal. They grabbed him and began hauling him away from the pitch, despite the fact that the supporter was putting up a fierce fight.
Shami walked onto the field while everyone else was leaving. The 32-year-old pacer saw security bring the fan out and yelled at them to treat the person with respect and appropriately usher him out of the arena. Many in the audience and on the internet were moved by Shami’s elegant act.

In terms of Shami and the current series, the right-arm pacer’s three wickets were key in India’s innings defeat against Australia in the first Test. Australia won the toss and got off to a good start in the second Test, with David Warner and Usman Khawaja hitting some adventurous strokes. However, the Indian bowlers quickly got back into the game, taking three quick wickets before Lunch to significantly slow down Australia’s scoring rate.
