Former Indian cricketer and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar showered praises on India’s pace sensation Mohammed Siraj, who has been impressed one and all with his terrific performances for the Indian cricket team. Coming from a humble background, the rise of Siraj in international cricket is nothing less than an inspiration for youngsters.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar lauded the maturity shown by Siraj in his promising career so far. Siraj, who made his Test debut during India’s previous tour of Australia, played a major role for the injury-ravaged Team India that successfully defeated Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Speaking to Boria Majumdar in his YouTube show ‘Backstage with Boria’. Tendulkar praised Siraj for rising up the ranks and becoming a crucial part of the Indian team in all the formats of the game. Highlighting Siraj’s rise in international cricket, Sachin said:
“When he played last year in Australia when he made his debut in Melbourne, it never appeared like he was playing his first match. That was the maturity he showed. He builds up his spells so beautifully and thereon, he has not looked back. Every time I see him, there is something new that he introduces,”
Further, Tendulkar heaped praises on Siraj’s lion-hearted efforts on the field and called him a fast learner. He said:
“There is spring in his legs and that is what I like to see. His run-up… you can see he is full of energy. And he is one of those bowlers… when you look at him, you cannot figure out whether it’s the first or the last over of the day. He is coming at you all the time. He is a proper fast bowler and his body language is so positive. That is what I like. He is a fast learner,”
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj was ecstatic to receive high praises from the GOAT himself. Siraj took to Twitter and acknowledged the words of praise by Sachin. He termed Sachin’s words “a huge motivation” and also promised to do his best for the team always. He said:
“Thank you @sachin_rt sir for this . It is a huge motivation for me coming from you .. I will always do my best for my country .stay well sir”
