Chennai Super Kings’ fans painted Eden Gardens of Kolkata ‘Yellow’! It felt like home for MS Dhoni and co. as they walked out for the game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic stadium in Kolkata on Sunday. Returning to Kolkata’s Eden after a long wait of four years for KKR’s home game, CSK was welcomed wholeheartedly by the Kolkata crowd.

Thousands of CSK fans were present at the Eden Gardens to catch a glimpse of the CSK captain MS Dhoni and they made sure that the legendary captain felt the love as he walked out for the toss against KKR.

The fans were at the peak of their voice and Dhoni was quick to acknowledge the love and support from the fans.

In fact, MS Dhoni was also left awestruck with the love he received at Eden Gardens. Ahead of the game, he was asked about how the fans are cheering for him, responding to which, Dhoni spoke about his roots. He stated how he used to work in Kharagpur for the railways, which is just 2 hours away from Kolkata, and hence people in KKR home ground are supporting him. He said:

“Would’ve bowled first as well. Players have grown in confidence, especially the bowling department. What is important is for everyone to contribute. Take that one good catch, one good run out. I have played a lot of cricket over here. I had a job at Kharagpur which was two hours from here. The love comes from there.”

Meanwhile, pictures and videos of the Chennai Super Kings fans from Eden Gardens have been floating around on social media. Dhoni fans on social media were left in awe of the support MS received everywhere he goes. There were many who started trolling KKR.
