"More Posters Than Runs": KS Bharat Got Trolled With Memes For Failure At His Home Ground In Vizag

Is the end of KS Bharat in the Indian Test team nigh? Many fans feel so. And it could be that his poor show at his home ground, in Visakhapatnam, in the second Test against England would be his last appearance in the Test team.

With Rishabh Pant injured, KS Bharat got to make his Test debut last year. However, the right-hander has not made one contribution of note with the bat in his 7-Test career, which could come to a close if the management decides to give Dhruv Jurel an opportunity for the rest of the series or if Ishan Kishan makes himself available for selection, although Kishan hasn’t played a single Ranji game so far this year.

In 12 Test innings now, KS Bharat has managed only 221 runs at an average of 20 with a highest score of 44.

Yes, he hasn’t got the easiest of the opponents – 5 of his Tests have been against Australia and 2 against England – but on good surfaces, such as the one in Ahmedabad last year or the two in Hyderabad and Vizag in this series, he has failed to make his chances count. Especially his struggles against the inexperienced English spinners in this series have been a cause of concern and could see him out for the younger, more aggressive Dhruv Jurel in the next Test.

At his home ground in Visakhapatnam, KS Bharat was welcomed with a felicitation by the Andhra board and there were a number of posters in and outside the stadium. However, his results with the bat were disappointing – he managed scores of 6 and 17 in the second Test. This led to his trolling on social media.
