In 2018, Chennai Super Kings will be back after serving a two year ban. And, their top priority will be bring MS Dhoni back.

Under MS Dhoni’s able leadership Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the most successful IPL franchise before getting banned due to match-fixing by one of the its owners. CSK has a massive army of fans and they just can’t wait to see the yellow jersey back in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“We will try our best to get back as many players who played for CSK two years back. But as far as MS Dhoni is concerned he was synonymous with CSK and we will go all out to get him. He has such a big fan following here and all franchise need a player like him to keep their brand and fans intact, so bringing back Dhoni is our top priority,” George John, the full time director of CSK Cricket limited was quoted as saying by New Indian Express.

““We will have the same support staff we had two years back. Fleming (Stephen Fleming)too will be on board as coach and the talks are on the advanced stage,” George told New Indian Express.

CSK Have Made A Big Statement On The Return Of MS Dhoni
In IPL 2017, RPS’ owner’s brother Harsh Goenka insulted MS Dhoni on more than one occasion on Twitter.

Every cricket fan who has seen MS Dhoni lead Chennai Super Kings over the years would agree that CSK would be incomplete without MS Dhoni. The entire state of Chennai is a big fan of MS Dhoni and they are hoping that their ‘Thailaiva’ will be back in the famous ‘yellow jersey’ and whistle podu will prevail again.

George John has also said that CSK are in talks with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about player retention and they are hoping to have draft similar to the one in 2016.

“Talks with BCCI about player retention is going on. We hope to have draft similar to the one in 2016. Since we are the highest-paid franchise among the two, we will get to pick first. So that is an advantage if it happens,” George John was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

“Talks are going on with the core group that we had two years back. If we get them back, it will definitely have a continuity and that is what we always look to achieve as franchise,” John added.

OUR TAKE: It is almost certain that MS Dhoni will be back in his yellow jersey in the next season of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni has time and again hinted towards this move. In fact, his wife Sakshi Dhoni, posted a picture in CSK helmet during the last season of IPL. She also showed disappointed with what Harsh Goenka, brother of RPS’ owner, wrote against MS Dhoni on Twitter.
