MS Dhoni, renowned for his impact in cricket, still captivates fans globally as he approaches the twilight of his career. His enduring charisma and popularity were displayed in the 13th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL).

MS Dhoni delighted fans with a splendid innings, displaying his classic batting style against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, March 31. The ex-CSK captain hammered an unbeaten 37 runs off 16 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes.

MS Dhoni Removes Helmet Upon A Fan’s Request

Despite Dhoni’s efforts, the Chennai-based team faced their first defeat of the season, coming up short by 20 runs in their latest match. After the game, the 42-year-old batsman conversed with former India teammate Ishant Sharma.

During a conversation with DC’s Ishant Sharma, a fan in Visakhapatnam asked MS Dhoni to remove his helmet. The wicketkeeper-batsman graciously fulfilled the fan’s request, taking off his helmet. This heartwarming gesture swiftly spread across social media platforms, captivating fans worldwide.

After winning the toss, Rishabh Pant chose to bat first. The opening pair of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw made a solid start, scoring 62 runs in the powerplay. They built a strong partnership of 93 runs before Warner got out after scoring 43 runs.

Rishabh Pant played a significant role in Delhi Capitals’ total of 191 runs, contributing 51 runs, marking his half-century in the tournament. Chennai Super Kings faced a challenging start in their chase of the 192-run target, losing openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra early.

Despite efforts from Ajinkya Rahane, Daryl Mitchell, and MS Dhoni, CSK struggled against the disciplined bowling of DC. Pacer Matheesha Pathirana was the most successful bowler for Chennai, claiming three wickets for 31 runs.

Khaleel Ahmed was impressive with the ball, taking two wickets for 21 runs in his four overs, including a maiden. Mukesh Kumar also made an impact, securing three wickets for 22 runs in his three overs. Axar Patel contributed with one wicket for the Delhi Capitals.
