Netizens Blamed Delhi Capitals For “Purposely” Helping RCB

On Monday Delhi Capitals became the second team to get qualified for the playoffs for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League after they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore with 6 wickets. Not just this, Delhi Capitals also found the second spot on the points table, which mean that they will get two shots at the final.

However, as the game finished the game with a close margin, Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore also qualified for the playoffs. But the Virat Kohli army will now have to win three games in a row in order to win their maiden IPL title.

While Delhi Capitals will be seen locking their horns with the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1 in Dubai, on the other hand, RCB will be locking their horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) or Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator.

Meanwhile, netizens weren’t happy with the fact that Delhi Capitals took the game to last over, delaying their win over RCB, which eventually led to RCB qualifying for the playoffs. Social media was flooded with tweets and posts trolling the DC and RCB both.

Here, check out a few tweets:

Frustrated by such tweets, popular commentator Aakash Chopra took to his social media and posted a tweet expressing his disappointment with the fans. In his tweet, Chopra questioned the netizens for blaming the Capitals for purposely delaying their win in Abu Dhabi.

Further, Aakash Chopra reckoned that Delhi Capitals had no reason to achieve the target with 15 balls left in the game as even if they had finished the game in 17.3 overs, KKR would have qualified. He wrote:

“Reading a lot of stuff about #DelhiCapitals purposely not winning the game inside 17.3 overs. May I please know what was in it for them to even attempt that feat??! Doosro ki diwali kharab karne ke chakkar mein Bahut log khud lut jate hain. #IPL2020.”
