In an impressive rise, India’s Ravi Bishnoi has become the top-ranked bowler in the ICC T20 International rankings, surpassing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan. Bishnoi’s outstanding performances have helped him achieve the number-one position with a rating of 699, overtaking Rashid Khan’s 692.
Ravi Bishnoi Dethroned Rashid Khan From No.1 Position
Bishnoi, who entered the international scene at the beginning of last year, has been delivering exceptional performances for India in T20I cricket. In a recent five-match T20I series against Australia, Ravi Bishnoi took 9 wickets with an average of 18.22 and an economy rate of 8.20.
He was also named the ‘Player of the Series’ for his outstanding performances. In total, he has taken 34 wickets in 21 T20I matches since making his debut against the West Indies in February 2022.
In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on their official handle, Ravi Bishnoi expressed that becoming the No.1 ranked bowler in the ICC Rankings was something he never dreamt of, and it feels like an out-of-this-world experience. He said:
“It is an out-of-the-world feeling. To become the number one bowler, I never dreamt of this. Now that I’m there, I’m feeling good about it and I hope to continue performing for the team and helping the team win.”
Ravi Bishnoi mentioned that his international cricket journey has been a mix of highs and lows, but he has enjoyed the experience. He said:
“I debuted on February 15 and the journey has had its ups and downs but the last 1-1.5 years have been good since I got to play some good games, played in the Asian Games and Asia Cup as well.”

Ravi Bishnoi added that his current accomplishments are the outcome of his dedicated efforts over the past five years. He wrote:
“It has been that I got opportunities and when I do I hope to play well. This is more of the efforts from the last five years coming to fruition. Now after that, it has been good so far and I am enjoying it.”
Ravi Bishnoi is set to play in the upcoming three-match T20I series against South Africa, scheduled for December 10, 12, and 14 in Durban, Gqeberha, and Johannesburg.
