'No Improvement After All These Years': R Ashwin's Hilarious Post For Journey From Debut To 100th Test

Senior India off-spinner R Ashwin made a hilarious post on Twitter describing his journey from his Test debut in 2011 to his 100th Test match.

Recently, in Dharamsala against England, Ashwin became only the 14th Indian player to earn 100 Test match caps. R Ashwin made a great impact on his 100th Test with the ball by taking a four-wicket haul in the first innings and a five-wicket haul in the second innings as India won the fifth Test by an innings.

He returned with combined match figures of 9/128. The most interesting thing noticed by the fans in this was that this is exactly the same bowling figures that R Ashwin had managed to take in his debut Test, back in 2011 against the West Indies in Delhi.

On his debut Test, Ashwin grabbed bowling figures of 3/81 & 6/47 – 9/128. He rode India to a five-wicket victory in that match with his bowling performances and bagged the Man of the Match award on debut.

R Ashwin takes to Twitter to make a hilarious post on his journey

When pointed out by a fan that he had exactly the same bowling figures in his debut Test as he did in his 100th Test match, Ashwin made a funny post.

Ashwin tweeted: ‘No improvement after all these years of playing the game.

“Only my mom can say things like this”’

Known for his wits, this tweet from the champion off-spinner had fans in splits.

R Ashwin

R Ashwin has now become the number 1 Test bowler for the sixth time in his Test career. This came on the back of his taking 26 wickets in the series against England. Even though he had not been at his best in the first three Tests, when he took 11 wickets, Ashwin bounced back with 15 wickets in the last two Tests. He replaced fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as the new number 1 Test bowler.

Ashwin’s next assignment is the IPL 2024, where he will play for the Rajasthan Royals and look to make it into India’s squad for the T20 World Cup.
