Last night the IPL battle was won by Sunrisers Hyderabad beating Kings XI Punjab by 13 runs at their home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
SRH proved it once again that they are the defending champions and can defend any low total. The team proved it once again that they are capable of turning the tables in any match.
All the credits for their victory last night goes to the bowlers of their team who showcased some extra-ordinary talent yesterday. Known for their exceptional bowling line-up Sunrisers Hyderabad made sure to not let the opposite team score chase the target of 132 runs.
Rashid Khan, the pace bowler of Sunrisers Hyderabad has made his name big in this game because of his performance so far. In the last night’s match he took 3 major wickets which contributed a lot to the victory of the team.
The first wicket being of the star player of Kings XI Punjab, KL Rahul, the young cricketer has now become a sensation. He scored 32 runs in 26 balls. Rashid Khan took his wicket with a pure leg-spinner’s dream delivery and sent him back to pavilion.
The rest two wickets were of Karun Nair, who was sent back to pavilion after he received lbw from Rashid Khan, the other wicket was of the skipper of the team, R.Ashwin.
However, Rashid Khan feels that it was KL Rahul’s wicket which was extremely special for him as he is his favorite player. Yes, here’s what he said:
“Getting KL’s wicket was great, he’s a class player, one of my favourites, the plan was to bowl wicket-to-wicket, mix up my lengths. It gives a lot of confidence defending small totals, with our bowling – we can defend any total, the guys did a wonderful job in the last two games. The fielding was excellent, but we need more runs from the batsmen. The wickets in the last two games wasn’t easy, in the next few games, I think they will get more runs,”
Talking about the narrow win of Sunrisers Hyderabad against Kings XI Punjab, Rashid Khan said:
“It was tough to come back after those two bad games (against CSK and KXIP). It’s a part of cricket, the team support was amazing, they just told me to go there and enjoy myself. I don’t know (about the plan to bowl him after the powerplay), it’s up to the skipper, whenever he wanted me to bowl, I was ready,”
Rashid Khan is definitely one of the best bowlers the world has right now. Over all these years he has gained a lot of popularity because of his performance.
