Digital travel platform, Agoda, has revealed a 1702% surge in searches for stays in Ahmedabad in the wake of the much-awaited World Cup 2023. This spike can also be attributed to the eagerly awaited clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan, as well as the final match, both the games will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place between 5th October and 19th November 2023. The tournament will kickstart with a thrilling clash between the defending champions England and New Zealand on 5 October at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The much-awaited high-voltage game between India and Pakistan will take place on 14th October at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The final Group Stage match of the ODI World Cup 2023 will see England clash against Pakistan at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata.

Surge In Searches For Stays In Ahmedabad

Ever since the announcement of the schedule of the World Cup 2023, there has been a 237% hike in overall searches for the host cities throughout India.

While Ahmedabad has witnessed the maximum surge because of obvious reasons, the host cities of Dharamshala [347%], Lucknow [225%], Hyderabad [199%], and Pune [169%] have all witnessed search spikes during the match days.

Apart from the Indians, the intercontinental fans are also gearing up to watch the matches live – with the United Kingdom, Singapore, USA, Australia, and Malaysia leading the inbound search charts for the host cities around the match days.

Commenting on this trend, Krishna Rathi, Agoda Country Director, India, Sri Lanka, and Maldives, said, “We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm of cricket fans for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023.
