Only 2 Out Of 10 Fan Know India’s Complete Coaching Staff Under Rahul Dravid

Indian cricket has entered a fresh era under new Head coach Rahul Dravid, and new white-ball captain Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli relinquished the T20I captaincy at the end of the T20 World Cup, and was sacked as the ODI skipper by the board, with Sharma appointed as the new leader in limited-overs cricket.

Rahul Dravid took over the head coach duties from Ravi Shastri, whose tenure came to an end at the T20 World Cup. So did the contracts of batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Bharat Arun, and fielding coach R Sridhar.

Soon after, the new support staff members were selected by the board and they were with the team during the home matches against New Zealand and on the tour of South Africa.

Of all the outgoing coaches, only batting coach Vikram Rathour reapplied and was retained after receiving positive reviews from the players and the management.

T Dilip, who is a Hyderabad-based fielding coach, has been added to the national setup. Dilip has completed a Level 3 coaching course and also has prior experience with the Hyderabad team and India A side.

Paras Mhambrey, a former India and Mumbai pacer, was appointed as the bowling coach. He has worked extensively with Dravid at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Under-19 and India A teams. Mhambrey featured in 2 Tests and 3 ODIs, picking a total of 5 wickets. He snapped up 284 scalps in first-class cricket before taking up coaching.

Notably, the same trio had travelled to Sri Lanka for white-ball matches in July last year as interim coaches when Shastri and co. were in England for Test matches, registering a series win in the ODIs while lost the T20I rubber.

Under this new coaching staff, the Men In Blue whitewashed the Kiwis 3-0 in T20I series, and won the 2-Test series 1-0. India have taken a 1-0 lead in the South Africa Test also.
