Pakistan cricket team is currently locking horns with England in the ongoing 2nd Test match in Multan. The Babar Azam-led side, which is currently without the services of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Harris Rauf, has found a mystery spinner in form of Abrar Ahmed. Pakistan is banking on his mystery spinner after key bowlers were ruled out of the ongoing 2nd Test match due to respective injuries.
Abrar Ahmed, who is making his debut for Pakistan in the ongoing 2nd Test match, took a wicket in just his first over to announce his arrival on the international scene. He struck in only his first over, removing Zak Crawley. Following this, he came back to get rid of Ben Duckett too, who scored 63 runs off 49 balls, to provide Pakistan their second breakthrough in the Test.
Yes, in his debut match for Pakistan, Abrar has claimed the prized scalps of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Harry Brook. England batters, who were rampant in their first test match, all thanks to the stunning knocks of Crawley, Duckett, Pope, and Brook, however, in the 2nd Test match Abrar has managed to restrain the England batters.
Now with his five-wicket haul on his Test debut, Abrar has now become the 13th Pakistani bowler to achieve this feat. Also, Abrar Ahmed is the first bowler in Pakistan’s Test history to take 5 wickets in the first session on the Test debut. The only other Pakistan bowler to take 5 wickets on his first day in Test cricket is Wahab Riaz, also vs England, at The Oval in 2010. Notably, Multan is hosting a Test match after a gap of 16 years and Abrar has made the game memorable for one and all.
