For the unversed, Rohit Sharma suffered a thumb injury during the second match of the ongoing series. The incident happened during the 4th ball of the second over of the game when Rohit Sharma was attempting to complete a catch of Bangladeshi batter Anamul Haque, however, he ended up injuring his thumb in the process.
Rohit left the field in pain and didn’t return to take the field. However, when the Indian side suffered a horrible collapse and was in trouble, Rohit came out to bat at number nine with a dislocated thumb and tried to save the match. He single-handedly took the Indian side closer to target, however, his efforts went in vain as the Indian side fell short by 5 runs in the end. Rohit remained unbeaten on 51 runs from 28 balls.
After the end of 2nd ODI match, Indian head-coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that Rohit will miss the 3rd ODI, however, now after BCCI’s update, there are hopes that Rohit might feature in the two-match Test series. The upcoming 2-match Test series is very important for India to win if they want to qualify for the World Test Championship final.
