Thee first T20I between India and England in Kanpur was a big occasion for Parvez Rasool. Rasool, who was very impressive in the last season of Ranji Trophy, made his T20I debut for India. Rasool bowled 4 overs and took 1 wicket for 32 runs.
But, even before the match started and the first ball was bowled, the Kashmiri all-rounder landed in trouble for “allegedly” insulting India’s national anthem. It’s a ritual these days that both the teams line-up for national anthems before the start of the play and Parvez Rasool was seen standing at ease during the national anthem and chewing gum before the match.
His casualness was spotted by fans and it became a topic of discussion on social networking websites likes Facebook and Twitter. Here are some of the tweets:

DISAPPOINTED to see Parvez Rasool standing at ease & chewing gum during national anthem. Can wear India jersey, can’t sing anthem? #INDvENG

What a shame to see Parvez Rasool refuse to sing National Anthem in Kanpur.Chewing gum instead.Doesn’t deserve the national cap.@war_echo?

One who can’t respect our National anthem. He doesn’t deserve to be part of INDIAN Cricket team. #parvezRasool @virendersehwag @imVkohli
