Because of his injuries, Jonny Bairstow will not be participating in the Indian Premier League this year. We are sorry to have to break the news to you. We want the best for him and are looking forward to working with him again next season.

We are happy to have Matthew Short join us in his new role as his replacement. Bairstow, who plays wicketkeeper and bats for England, was hurt in September of the previous year while playing golf with friends in Yorkshire. He slipped and suffered several fractures in his fibula as a result of the accident.

He shattered his left leg and left ankle and also damaged ligament. When Bairstow finally went in for surgery a few days later, a plate had to be surgically implanted.

Since then, the right-hander has not participated in a single competitive event, which resulted in England’s elimination from the T20 World Cup. Also, he was absent during England’s tours in Pakistan.
