PCB Issues Apology For Posting Insensitive Tweet Moments After Sacking Sarfaraz Ahmed From Captaincy

Sarfaraz Ahmed is no longer the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team. The Pakistan Cricket Board has removed Sarfaraz Ahmed from captaincy from all three formats with immediate effect.

Babar Azam, who is one of the talented batsmen of Pakistan cricket team will now take over the role in the shortest formats, while on the other hand, veteran batsmen Azhar Ali will take over the captaincy of red-ball cricket.

Removal of Sarfaraz Ahmed from the post of captaincy came as a big blow as the T20 world cup is exactly one year away.

And as if sacking Sarfaraz Ahmed wasn’t enough Pakistan Cricket Board decided to rub more salt on the wound by posting a distasteful tweet. A few moments after Sarfaraz Ahmed was removed from the post of captain, the Pakistan Cricket Board posted a gif image of Pakistan cricketers dancing.

Yes, you read that right and that’s not it, in the gif, Sarfaraz Ahmed can be seen leaving the frame. PCB was quick to delete the insensitive tweet but the harm was already done.

Here, check out PCB’s insensitive tweet:

However, PCB was quick to realize its mistake and was quick to issue an explanation along with an apology for that post. PCB wrote:

“The PCB apologies for this post and accepts the timing of it was wrong. This was a pre-planned post as part of the one-year to go #T20WorldCup promotional campaign. The timing of this post clashed with the captaincy announcement for which the PCB offers its regrets.”
