The IPL 2023 has crossed its halfway stage with the tournament producing one bright performance after another from unsung heroes.
In this article, we will look at a few of those players who have performed well, exceeding the expectations from the fans and experts ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League 2023.
Here are 3 players who have done superbly beyond expectations in IPL 2023:

Shivam Dube

He’s the third-highest CSK scorer currently after Conway and Gaikwad. The left-hander has scored 264 runs at a strike rate of 158. Stand and hammer seems to be Dube’s mantra this season.
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Rajasthan Royals had taken the punt on making Yashasvi Jaiswal their opener instead of another talented, proven opener in Devdutt Padikkal. They had backed Jaiswal to improve his game in the powerplay and after that, and the youngster has done exactly that. He’s been giving rapid starts in the first six over to his side, even overshadowing Jos Buttler at times, and then adjusting once the field restrictions are lifted. In fact, many believe that Yashasvi Jaiswal can become even more dangerous if he does better post the powerplay.
In 8 innings this season so far, Jaiswal has scored 304 runs at a strike rate of 147 with 3 fifties. Jaiswal’s strike rate of 163 in the powerplay is amongst the best in the tournament.
Tushar Deshpande
If there’s a bowler who has surpassed all expectations that is CSK‘s Tushar Deshpande. From being mocked and trolled by his own franchise fans for a couple of poor outings at the start of the season, Deshpande’s rise to come into the race for the Purple Cap has been simply astonishing and, frankly, unbelievable.
He leaked 51 runs and 45 runs in his first two matches, but then, something changed and Deshpande has not only been economical since, but also has been picking wickets in all both powerplay and death overs phase and has been a crucial cog in CSK’s rise to the top 4 of the points table. In 8 innings, Tushar Deshpande has snapped up 14 wickets, the joint-highest in the tournament at the time of writing.
