PM Narendra Modi Praised Anil Kumble In His Speech

As the exams session is just around the corner, honorable PM Narendra Modi addressed his annual event with the students ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2020’ in Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium. During the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to motivate students reminded an iconic incident involving Anil Kumble that happened in the History of Indian cricket involving Anil Kumble.

PM Modi reminded the students how Anil Kumble who had fractured his jaw while batting in the Antigua Test in 2002 against West Indies.

Instead of snubbing the match further, Anil Kumble surprised everyone by emerging from the pavilion with a bandage around his face. He was later ruled out of the remainder of the tour as he had to undergo a surgery.

Throughout his bowling spell, Anil Kumble kept everyone on the edge of their seats. He bowled 14 consecutive overs and kept the West Indies batsmen under the pressure. PM Modi has said:

“Our cricket team was facing setbacks. The mood was not very good. But in those moments can we ever forget what Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman did? They turned the match around,”

He added:

“Similarly, who can forget Anil Kumble bowling with an injury. This is the power of motivation and positive thinking,”

After two days of PM Modi mentioning his name at the event, Anil Kumble has finally come out and thanked PM Modi for mentioning the incident involving him in front of the students. Anil Kumble also wished the students all the luck for their exams. He wrote:

“Honoured to have been mentioned in #ParikshaPeCharcha2020 Thankyou Hon. PM @narendramodi ji, Best wishes to everyone writing their exams”
