India and Delhi Capitals batsmanPrithvi Shaw has landed in fresh controversy – and quite a big one for that matter, this could hurt his career in the coming months – after he and his friends were involved in a street fight with influencer Sapna Gill and her friends on Wednesday night in Mumbai.
The videos of their street fight have now gone viral, in which Shaw and a girl can be seen tussling with a baseball bat. The girl can be heard shouting that Shaw had assaulted her.
However, on Thursday morning, the reports came in that Shaw and his friend Ashish Surendra Yadav had filed a complaint against Sapna Gill and her friends, a total of 8 people, of attacking them and against the girl for demanding money to resolve the matter. The Oshiwara Police had booked 8 people including Sapna.
Two videos from Wednesday night have spread like wildfire on social media. This video is made by a friend of Sapna Gill, in which the person can be heard saying that he has proof of Shaw and his friends hitting Sapna and her friends.
Did Prithvi Shaw physically assault Sapna Gill?
The female can also be heard, in a forlorn tone, that they were enjoying and partying in the night but Shaw and his friends have hit them physically. Many on social media, who claim to know the insights of this incident, have already accused Shaw of physically assaulting Sapna Gill.
Sapna’s lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan, said the police were not allowing her to go for medical tests and was at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai.
“Sapna was assaulted by Prithvi. A stick was seen in Prithvi’s hand. Prithvi’s friends assaulted the group first. Sapna is currently at Oshiwara police station. The police are not allowing her to go for medical,” Ali Kashif said.
The reports have said that this fan-group had demanded selfies from Prithvi Shaw but the opener refused and complained to the hotel manager where they were partying. Later in the night, Sapna and her friends, reportedly, chased Shaw’s car and hit the car with baseball bats.
There has been no comment made yet from Prithvi Shaw’s side or from anyone in the cricket fraternity. But this matter is unlikely to subside soon.
