Rahul Dravid, speaking to Sports18 after the match, praised Rinku Singh’s maturity and composure, highlighting the positive aspect of seeing him handle a challenging match situation. Rinku entered the crease with India struggling at 22 for 4, and the left-handed batsman played a crucial role in forming an unbeaten 190-run partnership with captain Rohit Sharma, contributing significantly to India’s competitive total. He said:

Yeah, he’s been terrific. For someone who is just starting off his career in international cricket, started off in August or September, it’s just been a few months. But the maturity and calmness he’s showing, we’ve always seen him come at the back end of the innings and finish games off but today was a great test for him to come in at 22 for 4 and just build that partnership and show what he can do at the back end,”

Dravid further mentioned that Rinku Singh has a clear understanding of his strengths and areas for improvement. Rinku earned a place in the Indian team after an impressive IPL 2023 and has since accumulated 356 runs in 11 innings, boasting an average of 89 and a striking rate of 176.23. He said:

“It’s really good for us to see that and he’s very clear. One of the good things about Rinku is that he’s very clear about his skills, what he knows, what his strengths are, what he needs to work on, and how he needs to go about it,

India’s victory in the T20I series against Afghanistan marked their sixth consecutive win against them in this format, maintaining an unbeaten record of 6-0. The Indian team is now set to focus on the upcoming five-match Test series against England, scheduled to commence on January 25.
