Rahul Dravid

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali made a bold statement against the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid badly and called him zero in his profession of coaching the Indian cricket team. Ali’s statement came after team India’s lackluster performance in the first innings of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final against Australia at The Oval.

Australians posted a huge target of 467 runs in the first innings, riding on the stellar partnership of Steve Smith and Travis Head. Later, during India’s innings, the team suffered a horrible top-order collapse but on day 3 Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur tried to bring back the momentum by playing crucial knocks. Team India posted 296 runs on the scoreboard after their first innings.

Team India is in a challenging position in the WTC Final with the Australians taking a 296-run lead after Day 3. They will resume the game on 123/4 with two days remaining in the must-win game.

Rahul Dravid Is Zero As A Coach – Rahul Dravid

Meanwhile, speaking on his YouTube channel, Basit Ali pointed out Dravid’s mistakes in planning and running things during the WTC Final. He said that except for Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ravindra Jadeja, the remaining Indian players look tired.

Ali also came out hard on the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and said that he is ‘zero’ as a coach. He said:

“India lost the game when Rohit Sharma decided to bowl. They bowled like they did in the IPL and celebrated the first three wickets as if they won the game. Only Rahane, Virat Kohli, and Jadeja looked fit, the rest all were tired.”

He added: “I am a huge Rahul Dravid fan. He was a class player, but as a coach, he is absolutely zero. He did not select the side according to the pitch. God knows what he was thinking. Jab upar wala akal baant raha tha toh pata nahi kaha pahaado ke peeche chhupe huye the (When god was distributing brains, only god knows where he was hiding). “
