“He Is An Improved Player…” – Rahul Dravid Made A Huge Statement On Shivam Dube

Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid showered praises on all-rounder Shivam Dube for his impressive performance in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.

Dube played crucial innings of 60* and 63* in the first two matches, playing a pivotal role in India’s dominant 6-wicket victories. Additionally, Dube contributed with the ball, picking up a wicket in each game, showcasing his all-round capabilities.

Rahul Dravid Made A Huge Statement On Shivam Dube

Rahul Dravid expressed satisfaction with Shivam Dube’s comeback to the Indian cricket team, acknowledging his improvement as a player. Dravid noted that Dube, with his inherent talent, has returned to the team as an enhanced player. He mentioned that Dube will have the opportunity to showcase his skills in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), similar to his performances in the previous year. He said:

“I’m happy for him because he made a comeback after a long time. He is certainly come back an improved player. There’s no doubt that he always had the talent. But really happy to see the way he performed in this series.”

He added: “He’ll have the opportunity to show in the IPL again, like he did last year. But really happy for him, he showed us that he’s got some really good ability through those middle overs against spin and also with the ball.”

Shivam Dube, known for his powerful six-hitting, initially gained prominence in the Indian cricket team due to his IPL and domestic cricket performances. After a dip in form, he made a comeback, impressing with Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 and 2023.

Dube’s consistent IPL displays earned him a place back in the national team, seen as a potential replacement for Hardik Pandya. Dube’s performance in IPL 2024 could further solidify his spot for the T20 World Cup, as Hardik’s availability remains uncertain due to injury, and Dube is working on enhancing his bowling skills.
