Rahul Dravid On India’s Biggest Test Win: The Indian cricket team registered their biggest win in the Test format as they defeated England by 434 runs in Rajkot. The victory showcased stellar performances from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja.

India Registered Their Biggest Win In Test

The Indian team faced a shaky start to the Test match, losing three wickets for just 33 runs on the opening morning. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rajat Patidar struggled against the bowling of Mark Wood and Tom Hartley. This early setback hinted at a potential shift in momentum in favor of the English side.

Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the saviors for India, steering the team from a precarious position of 33 runs to a solid total of 237. Rohit Sharma’s commanding 131-run innings and Ravindra Jadeja’s impressive 112-run knock at his home ground propelled India’s score past the 400-run mark. This ensured a substantial lead for India before England’s innings ended at 319 runs.

In the third innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his batting prowess with a remarkable double century, marking his second consecutive in the series. Shubman Gill’s resilient knock of 91 runs also significantly contributed to the team’s total. Additionally, Sarfaraz Khan’s brisk 68, scored at a striking rate of 94, added crucial runs to India’s tally.

Rahul Dravid On India’s Biggest Test Win

After India’s win head Coach Rahul Dravid praised both the experienced players and the younger squad members for their valuable contributions, emphasizing the collaborative effort in overcoming challenges.

Speaking to BCCI.tv at the end of the match, Dravid said, “Really proud of the team. I think we were challenged in this game. In the end, it seems like an easy win, but nice to see different people step up.”

He added: “If you look at this match, there were performances all across the table, not just the seniors, but the junior guys as well. This really speaks volumes of the team, and it’s ability to bounce back under-pressure.”
