Rahul Tewatia Shared A Cryptic Tweet After Getting Ignored From India’s T20I Squad For Ireland Series

Gujarat Titans‘ all-rounder Rahul Tewatia shared a cryptic Tweet after not finding his name in the Indian squad selected for the upcoming two-match T20I series in Ireland later this month. Rahul had a very good season this year as he won a couple of matches single-handedly with the bat for Gujarat Titans however he failed to find his name in the Indian squad announced for the upcoming series.

Rahul Tewatia Ignored From Team India’s Squad

During the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, Tewatia played many crucial cameos for Gujarat Titans however none of them was more special than his heroics against Punjab Kings. He had smashed PBKS pacer, Odean Smith, for two consecutive sixes when 12 runs were required off 2 balls to take Gujarat to a six-wicket victory.

In IPL 2022, he scored 217 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 147.62. His heroics in IPL 2022 gained him praises from all-around, however, the all-rounder was left disappointed when the BCCI announced the squad for the 2-match T20I series against Ireland.

Tewatia Shared A Cryptic Tweet

On Thursday, Tewatia took to his Twitter and shared a cryptic post, where he expressed his disappointment. “Expectations hurt,” tweeted Tewatia along with a couple of sad emojis just a few hours after the BCCI announced the 17-member squad.

Meanwhile, talking about the squad, the BCCI has released a largely similar side to the one that is currently taking on South Africa, however, the captaincy role has been switched from Rishabh Pant to Hardik Pandya. Rishabh has been rested for the series.

Hardik Pandya (Captain), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (vice-captain), Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik.
