Raina, Jadeja, Bravo were involved in fixing: Lalit Modi

Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi has finally named three Chennai Super Kings (CSK) players for receiving bribes from an Indian bookmaker. Lalit Modi alleged that Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, and Dwayne Bravo of the West Indies, had received bribes from an Indian bookmaker. Modi has also named the bookmaker. Lalit Modi alleged that Baba Diwan, who happens to be a real estate tycoon, gave the players flats in addition to the monetary benefits.

Raina, Jadeja and Bravo all play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. This has come as a big blow for the franchise as they are desperately trying to rid themselves of the taint of corruption and the conflict of interest issue related to former owner N Srinivasan and his son in law Gurunath Meiyappan.

Modi also stated that the likes of BCCI, Anurag Thakur and India Cements are trying to deceive the public in matters related to betting. “Again these jokers in @BCCI @ICC @IPL #indiacements @ianuragthakur trying 2 hoodwink us all in regard to #illegal betting quantum,” Modi tweeted.

Lalit Modi has also claimed that “9,000-10,000 crore per game” was the money being bet in the cash-rich Twenty20 league.

“I have been saying for years – wake up media fellows it’s more like 9000-10,000 crores per game. Why do u think #monster is trying to stay #put on his #chair. That’s where he gets his #raw #material to fund his #buying of #votes, #politicians, #players,” he further tweeted.

Here is the copy of the letter which Lalit Modi had written to ICC CEO Dave Richardson, revealing these details:
