When some members of the cricket fraternity went about raising fingers on MS Dhoni’s place in T20s, Ravi Shastri was one of the strongest supporters of Mahi. Yet again the head coach of team India has extended his appreciation for MS Dhoni.
MS Dhoni was just sensational with the gloves in the T20 series against Sri Lanka and even those who questioned his place now have changed their stance.
Ravi Shastri has made a big statement on MS Dhoni. The head coach has made a strong statement and has said that till date there’s no other wicket keeper who can replace MS Dhoni.
Not very long ago we saw MSK Prasad, the chief selector saying the same thing and now you have the head coach who is all guns blazing in appreciation of MS Dhoni.
Ravi Shastri has once again slammed all those who opined that MS Dhoni should step down and make way for youngsters. MSK Prasad too stated the very same fact that no other youngster has been able to live to the expectations which makes MS Dhoni irreplaceable.
“We are not stupid. I have been watching this sport for the last 30-40 years. Virat has been a part of this team for a decade now. We know, at this age, he (Dhoni) can beat players aged 26. People who talk, forget that they played the game,” Shastri said.
After India lost a T20 to New Zealand, former Indian cricketers like VVS Laxman and Ajit Agarkar went about saying that MS Dhoni should now make way for youngsters.
“He is still one of the best around, not only in the Indian team but in the world. Some of the things you see with him are not sold in the market. You will not get it anywhere else,” he added.
Even then Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri and other eminent former cricketers stood by Dhoni’s side and once again the head coach has come out to bat for Dhoni’s place.
“The fact that he does not play Test cricket means he should be playing as much cricket as possible till the World Cup in 2019,” he said.
After seeing what the chief selector and the head coach feels, it’s almost certain that MS Dhoni would surely feature in the 2019 World Cup. This brings in some great cheer for the fans of MS Dhoni who are concerned about his appearance in the 2019 World Cup.
