The Indian cricket team is all set to lock horns against Bangladesh in the ongoing 2-match Test series, following the completion of the ongoing 3-match ODI series. The 3rd ODI match is going to be a dead rubber as India has already lost the series 0-2 against Bangladesh. The upcoming 2-match Test series is very important for India to win if they want to qualify for the World Test Championship final.
Meanwhile, ahead of the much-awaited Test series, IPL’s franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore took to their social media, on Friday, and shared Team India’s 5 Best wins under the leadership of Virat Kohli. The Virat Kohli era has officially ended. Virat decided to bring down the curtains on his stint as the Indian captain earlier this year. He stepped down only as the country’s most successful Test captain, but a lot of other laurels which he can look back proudly upon.
It won’t be wrong to say that Kohli is India’s greatest Test captain. In 68 outings he has 40 wins. Globally this puts him one behind Steve Waugh, and a bit further down the list from Ricky Ponting (48) and Graeme Smith (53). Kohli led by example to change India’s fitness culture and also oversaw the development of a formidable pace attack which turned out to be key to India’s success overseas. Apart from this, Kohli groomed India into arguably the best bowling attack in the world. The emergence of world-class bowlers including the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma, meant that picking 20 wickets was no more a dream for the Indian cricket team.
On Friday, Royal Challengers Bangalore via their official Twitter handle picked India’s top-5 wins under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. Sharing the best wins under Kohli’s captaincy, RCB wrote:
