On April 18, 2023, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) played their 25th IPL 2023 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.
After winning the toss, SRH captain Aiden Markram decided to bowl first. MI got off to a solid start with 41 runs in 4.4 overs with to Rohit Sharma (28) and Ishan Kishan (38). The team then reached 192/5 in 20 overs with to the contributions of Tim David (17), Tilak Varma (37 in 17 with 4 sixes and 2 fours), and Cameron Green (64* in 40 with 6 fours and 2 sixes).

In response, SRH suffered early losses of important batters like Harry Brook (9), Rahul Tripathi (7), and Abhishek Sharma (1). Then Mayank Agarwal (48) and Aiden Markram (22) helped to stabilise the ship a little, but the SRH team was always running behind schedule.
Pressure to the hitters. This featured the youthful Arjun Tendulkar, who bowled a superb 20th over despite defending 20 runs while under duress.

As skipper Rohit Sharma grabbed the catch, he bowled to the field and even managed to get Bhuvneshwar Kumar out to conclude SRH’s innings at 178. He then enthusiastically celebrated his first IPL wicket.
Riley Meredith and Jason Behrendorff each took two wickets as MI defeated the opposition by a score of 14 runs. With this victory, MI rose to the sixth slot in the points standings with 3 victories in 5 games, while SRH is now ranked ninth with 2 victories in 5 games.
