On Sunday night, KKR beat GT thanks to an incredible effort by Rinku Singh, who hit five sixes in a row in the final over to seal the victory.

Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, had a fantastic response to Rinku Singh’s blitzkrieg against the Gujarat Titans on Saturday night. With KKR needing 28 runs to win, Rinku hit five straight sixes off the final five deliveries, leading to an incredible triumph at Ahmedabad’s legendary Narendra Modi Stadium. At one point, Rinku was 9 not out off 14 balls; his power hitting didn’t start until the fifth ball of the 19th over, and he finished by smashing Yash Dayal in the last over.

Taking to his official Twitter account, Shah Rukh wrote, “JHOOME JO RINKUUUUU !!! My baby @rinkusingh235 And @NitishRana_27 & @venkateshiyer you beauties!!! And remember Believe that’s all. Congratulations @KKRiders and @VenkyMysore take care of your heart sir!”

In a hilarious twist, Shah Rukh also shared a photoshop job of the Pathaan movie poster, which featured Rinku Singh’s visage.

The Gujarat Titans were the better team up until the 19th over, when the other team finally began to gain some momentum. Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur, three of KKR’s biggest power-hitters, were all dismissed by their stand-in captain Rashid Khan in the 17th over of the run-chase. Even though the left-handed batsman had struggled to make contact with the ball during his first time at the crease, Rinku kept his best for last and delivered a magnificent effort to seal the win for the Knight Riders.

The victory was KKR’s second in as many games, following their opening week triumph in Kolkata, which was witnessed by Shah Rukh Khan.

“It was a nail-biting finish, extremely happy that we won the game. Our coach has always said that we can score 200 on any given day. Honestly, the wicket was quite good to bat. When the target is 200, you can’t have silent overs. I was just trying to execute my plans,” Venkatesh Iyer had said after the match.
