The Men in Blue claimed the three-match series by 2-1.

The Rohit Sharma-led side was in a spot of bother at 72 for four in a chase of 260, however, Hardik Pandya (71 off 55 and 4/24) and Rishabh Pant (125 not out off 113 balls) put up a stellar show to help team India complete the epic chase with 47 balls to spare.

Virat Kohli Offered Champagne To Ravi Shastri

Following the historic win, former Indian captain Virat Kohli looked in high spirit as he offered the champagne to former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri, who was present at the ground for commentary.

The just-concluded tour of England started last year when Shastri was the head coach of the Indian side and Virat Kohli was the captain. The duo shares a great bond with other and the same was visible when the Indian side defeated England last night. As Shastri was busy with his commentary duties, he didn’t join Virat as he didn’t take his offer.

Rishabh Pant Handed The Bottle To Shastri

Following this, Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who played a sensational knock walked up to Ravi Shastri and handed him the bottle of champagne. Meanwhile, after the match, during the post-match presentation, Player of the Match — Rishabh Pant talked about his memorable century. Talking about his performance, Pant said:

Hopefully I remember (this knock) for the rest of my life. I was focusing on one ball at a time when I was batting. When your team is under pressure and you bat like that .. something I aspire to do. I always enjoy playing in England, at the same time enjoy the atmosphere and the situation. The more you play the more experience you gain. Nothing to take away from the bowlers, it was a good wicket to bat on and the bowlers did a commendable job to restrict them, they were brilliant not only today but for the entire series.”
