The Indian cricket team is all set to lock their horns with Australia with a three-match T20I series at home. The series opener will be played on Tuesday at the IS Bindra, Punjab Cricket Association Stadium (PCA) in Mohali.
The Indian side will play a game after the squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2022 was named. Apart from Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh, the Indian side almost has a full-strength squad present to choose from. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who missed out on the recently concluded Asia cup 2022 due to injuries are also returning to the field with the upcoming series.
Meanwhile, the team management will have to take a big call as in all probability only one of Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant can make it to the playing XI. While a full-fledged debate has been going on, with several cricket experts and cricketers coming up with their opinions on the matter. Now ahead of the India vs Australia series opener, vice-captain KL Rahul has revealed that the decision is dependent on the conditions and opponent and a tough decision to make. He said:
“It again depends on the kind of combination you want to go with. It depends on the surface and the teams we are playing against. These are not easy decisions. Both are high-quality players, and have been playing well. Both of them do different roles,”
