Star Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant is likely to make a return to the Indian cricket team as early as the England series in 2024. Team India will take on England for a five-match Test series at home in January next year.

Pant is currently recovering from multiple injuries that he sustained in a car accident last year. He underwent surgery in Mumbai under the care of Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala in February 2023. After going through multiple surgeries, he is taking huge steps toward making his international comeback. According to a report on Sports Today, Rishabh Pant will also feature in the IPL next year.

Rishabh Pant To Make A Comeback In Indian Squad

For the unversed, on December 30th, Rishabh Pant’s car crashed on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, with the wicketkeeper batter suffering major burns and injuries on his body. However, it has to be noted that despite having resumed his batting and keeping, the return date for Pant still seems quite far away. But if a report is to be believed, Pant is showing good signs of progress during his progress sessions.

In the ODI format, Pant has played 30 games and scored 965 runs at an average of 34. Pant has played 33 Tests and amassed 2271 runs at an average of 43.67 which features five centuries. He is still remembered for his batting heroics in the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia 2020/21.

Recently, a few reports stated that Pant has finally resumed batting in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and is now facing fast bowers too. As per the reports, Rishabh Pant is likely to make a return to the Indian cricket team as early as the England series in 2024. The Indian cricket team will take on England for a five-match Test series at home in January next year. This is a piece of big news for fans as he is a serial match-winner for the Indian side and the world is missing the presence of Rishabh Pant on-field.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team will now take on Ireland for a three-match T20I series. The team will assemble in Dublin in two separate groups based on the report for the Ireland series. India will play Ireland on August 18, 20, and 23.
