Despite the controversy surrounding an interview given by his father, India cricketer Ravindra Jadeja remains steadfast in supporting his wife Rivaba publicly. Making a remarkable comeback from a hamstring injury, Jadeja showcased his all-round prowess in the third Test against England in Rajkot, contributing significantly to India’s historic 434-run victory.
Ravindra Jadeja Dedicated His POTM Award To Wife Rivaba
Entering the crease at 33/3, Jadeja partnered with captain Rohit Sharma in a historic double-century stand, rescuing India and setting a strong foundation. Later, he formed another crucial partnership with Sarfaraz Khan, scoring 112 himself, his fourth Test century. India totaled 445 in their first innings. Jadeja also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets, including that of Ben Stokes, in England’s first innings.
In England’s second innings, Jadeja’s bowling prowess was unmatched as he claimed 5/41, dismantling England’s lineup for a mere 122 runs.
Later, after his all-around show, Jadeja received the Man of the Match award, which he dedicated to his wife. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Jadeja said:
“Obviously, scoring a hundred and taking a five-for in a match is a special feeling,” Jadeja said in a video shared by BCCI on their website. “This is a special man-of-the-match award at my home ground and I would like to dedicate this to my wife because she has been working hard behind the scenes mentally. She always gives me confidence.”
He added: “It is a special feeling to take a 5-wicket haul in the second innings. And that too, a hundred and a 5-wicket haul in the same Test is special,”
A day after India’s win in Rajkot, Rivaba took to her Instagram and shared a picture of herself with Jadeja and wrote: “With the Man @royalnavghan himself…
Your strength and courage amaze me every day🥰☺️ more power to you, Mr. RJ ❤️❤️❤️”

Just before the start of the third Test, Jadeja publicly supported his wife Rivaba, standing by her side following allegations made by his father. “The things mentioned in the dubious interview with Divya Bhaskar are meaningless and false. Those are one-sided comments that I deny them. The attempt to tarnish the image of my wife is improper and condemnable. I too have a lot to say but it is better that I don’t reveal those things in public,” Jadeja had said on X (formerly Twitter).
