VIDEO: Rohit Sharma Abused Shardul Thakur For His Lazy Fielding

The Rohit Sharma led Indian cricket team won the first ODI match of the ongoing three-match series against the West Indies by five wickets at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Indian captain Rohit won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first in the series opener and then bundled them up for just 114 runs in 23 overs. For Team India, five out of the six bowlers used by captain Rohit Sharma managed to get their wicket. Kuldeep Yadav, who won the Player of the Match, picked the highest number of wickets as he returned with the figures of – four wickets for six runs in three overs. Ravindra Jadeja also got rid of 3 batters for 37 runs in 6 overs.

Though, the opening game didn’t prove to be a tricky one for team India, but despite that Rohit Sharma was seen losing his cool on the field. A video of the same has been going viral on the internet, where Rohit could be seen abusing Shardul Thakur after his sloppy fielding allowed West Indies batters to complete 3 runs.

The incident took place during the last ball of the 19th over of the West Indies innings, which was bowled by Kuldeep. Windies captain Shai Hope was batting at 31 runs from 34 balls at that time. Shai played a drive and Shardul was chasing the ball.

There was not much pace on the ball but due to Shardul’s lazy fielding, Hope completed three runs and this irked Rohit Sharma, who then didn’t shy away from hurling a mouthful at Shardul Thakur. The video of the incident has gone viral on the internet.

Meanwhile, Shardul, who was the most experienced pacer in the Indian line-up, produced a decent show with the ball. He picked up only one wicket in 3 overs. He dismissed Brandon King for 17 runs. He also got an opportunity to bat in the first ODI match but he failed to make the most of it and got out run from four balls.
