Rajat Patidar entered the Test series against England with high hopes because of his strong performances in domestic cricket. However, he hasn’t lived up to expectations, managing just 63 runs in three Test matches. As a result, his spot in the XI for the fifth and final Test is in jeopardy. It will be interesting to see which players India opts for in Dharamsala.
Patidar’s struggles during his debut series have led to doubts about his position in the team, even though captain Rohit Sharma has shown faith in his abilities. Given the uncertainty surrounding KL Rahul’s fitness, Patidar may receive another chance to demonstrate his worth. However, Devdutt Padikkal could also be considered as a potential alternative.
